Desiree Surie – Allround Vocalist & Entertainer

Born in 1975, Desiree Surie is a versatile singer who first set foot on stage at the age of 8. What started with performing playback shows to the hits of Madonna and Whitney Houston soon grew into the confidence to sing live.

At just 12 years old, Desiree won second place in a talent contest at Club Strass in The Hague with her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance”, where legendary singer Anneke Gronloh was on the jury. Shortly after, she began performing as a duo with her father, “Soulman Surie,” with whom she still occasionally shares the stage.

By age 15, Desiree had already appeared on the famous Soundmix Show hosted by Henny Huisman. Years later, in 2014, she competed in the TV program “Beat It.” While that didn’t launch her career in the way she hoped, it opened doors to perform regularly at festivals in Germany with her then-big band.

Currently, Desiree is one half of the energetic duo “SugarLips” together with Nicky van der Kuyp. With SugarLips, she even made it onto the TV program “All Together Now” in 2018. Since then, Desiree has continued to shine as the resident singer at Fun4Two in Moordrecht, performing every last Sunday of the month.

Over the years, Desiree has graced countless stages and events, including the Denny Braaf Concert, Toxic Tilburg, 90’s-00’s XXL Silverdome Zoetermeer, Rainbow Festival The Hague, Ahoy Rotterdam Beauty Fair, Crazyland, DC Models Breda, Little Sins, Asta Casino The Hague, Central Studios Utrecht, Kurhaus Scheveningen, Zaal Athena Antwerp, and even international performances in Turkey and on Ibiza.

As a solo artist, Desiree released her debut single in 2018: “If I Can’t Have You” (Bee Gees cover), produced by Brad Grobler. In 2019, she followed up with “Simply the Best” (Friesland Productions). Her first original track “Dancin’ Alone” (2021) was produced by Luc Poublon and released on the Lumineux label. Continuing her collaboration with Brad Grobler, she surprised audiences with “Real Love” (2023), followed by her latest single “Love To” (2024), co-produced with H4LO and Grobler — once again under Lumineux.

With decades of stage experience, Desiree is not only a seasoned singer but also a charismatic presenter. Her shows are dynamic, uplifting, and perfect for a wide range of events: weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, student parties, sports events, corporate parties, receptions, grand openings, festivals, hospitality venues, shopping centers, and local celebrations.

Her unique blend of 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s hits infused with modern house elements guarantees a performance that keeps audiences energized and on their feet.
